KUDOS
Every trades person likes to boast about how
good they are, and in our role as Building
Surveyors, we do inspect work by trades
people which is exceptional, we also inspect
work which is exceptionally bad! Parameters
must be set and those parameters are
membership of the TOP100 Trades.
Members of the TOP100 Trades are awarded
the title of ‘Registered Master Tradesman’
(dependant upon their professional expertise,
i.e. Registered Master Plumber, Registered
Master Roofer etc.) The kudos of wearing a
fleece, sweatshirt or polo shirt gives incredible
benefits to that trades person.

Increased profits come about because the general public, by and large, will pay that little bit extra for professional quality trades people. And TOP100 Master Trades member when attending a consumers property in their bespoke fleece, sweatshirt or polo shirt and presenting their coded I.D. card and a copy of the ‘Consumers Charter’, will give rise to the consumers being willing to pay that little bit extra, knowing full well that they will receive respect, professionalism, a quality job from the TOP100 Master trades member and also receive good after sales service.

MEMBERSHIP OF AN EXCLUSIVE ‘CLUB’
Membership of the TOP100 Trades is an exclusive club.
In the first instance, all applicants must be a
member of a bone-fide trade organisation and
will be deemed therefore to have undergone
strict technical and business vetting.
Secondly, the TOP100 Trades criteria dictates
that all TOP100 Master Trades people work
to a strict ‘Consumer Charter’. This Consumer
Charter linked with the technical and
management vetting undertaken by the
applicant members association, ensures that
the consumers are as well protected as
possible with regards to the technical ability,
the business acumen and the customer care
services provided by the TOP100 Master
Trades person.

At the TOP100 we are experts at Mediation, Dispute Resolution and (if need be) Litigation Support.
Every trades person will at some time meet a difficult consumer, or may have difficulty getting paid.
Our Mediation and Dispute Service is FREE to all members.
We have over 20 years experience and have worked on over a 1000 disputes, we are experts.
And our expertise is at your disposal FREE in the form of unlimited negotiations and correspondence. We will even draft you a summons, if required, or prepare your Defence, again FREE.

Every tradesperson wants more work, indeed the perennial question posed by all trades people working within the UK, is:
‘How do I get more work?’
In our opinion, the root to more work is for trades people to be - polite, respectful, professional and provide a good level of workmanship for a fair price.
Sound logical doesn’t it? Unfortunately in our role as Private Practice Building Surveyors and Expert Witnesses, we know that the alternative is true in some cases.

There are thousands upon thousands of consumers ‘hoodwinked’ by ‘rouge traders’ and ‘cowboy builders’ every week throughout the UK. These sort of practices do not only harm the industry generally, but also harm the legions of highly professional trades people who do provide good, professional services at a fair price with respect and politeness.
The time has come for the best trades people in the industry to be recognised, by becoming a member of the TOP100 Register (Master Trades). The recognition which all professional trades people should aim for.
